CleanSpace is a Mac application that reads your disk in order to tell you what is on it. This policy explains what leaves your computer. The short version: almost nothing does.
What the app collects
Nothing. CleanSpace has no account system, no analytics, no telemetry and no crash-reporting service. It does not build a profile of you, and it does not send file names, file contents, scan results or usage information anywhere.
Scan results exist only in memory while the app is open. Your settings are stored in your Mac's own preferences, and your licence is stored in your Mac's Keychain.
What is sent when you buy
Buying happens on this website, through Paddle. Paddle is the merchant of record: they take the payment, handle tax, and are the seller on your statement. Your card details are entered on Paddle's checkout and never reach CleanSpace or this site.
From Paddle we receive, and store, only what is needed to issue and support your licence:
- The transaction identifier.
- Your email address, so the activation key and receipt can reach you.
- Which plan you bought.
What the app sends when you activate
Activating a licence is the only network request CleanSpace ever makes. It sends your activation key and a hardware fingerprint of your Mac — a one-way SHA-256 hash of its platform identifier and model. The identifier itself never leaves your Mac and the hash cannot be reversed back into it. The fingerprint is stored so the licence can be bound to that one machine, and so re-installing on the same Mac still works.
Licence checks
Your licence is verified on your own Mac, using a key built into the app. CleanSpace does not contact a server to confirm that you are still entitled to use it, so it works offline and there is no record of when or how often you run it.
Full Disk Access
CleanSpace asks for Full Disk Access so macOS will let it see the Trash, Mail, Safari and other apps' containers. This permission lets the app read those locations on your Mac. It does not transmit anything it reads. You can revoke it at any time in System Settings.
Payment processing
Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd, who act as merchant of record and hold your payment details under their own privacy policy. Their checkout runs on their own infrastructure; we never see a card number.
Website
This website serves static pages from Cloudflare. It sets no cookies of its own, embeds no trackers and runs no analytics. Paddle's checkout script is fetched only at the moment you click a buy button — if you never start a purchase, no third-party code is loaded at all. Once the checkout opens, Paddle sets its own cookies under its privacy policy. Cloudflare retains standard access logs for security and diagnostics.
Your rights
Because we hold so little, most requests are quick to satisfy. You can ask what we have about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted — bearing in mind that deleting your purchase record means we can no longer look you up or send your licence key again. If this policy changes in a way that affects what leaves your Mac, the change will be described here and the date above updated.
